Marcia Jacober, MFT

Marcia Jacober has worked with individuals and families affected by substance abuse for 20 years. Working first as an educator in the Mt. Diablo School District with pregnant and parenting teens, and later as Parent Education Program Coordinator, Marcia developed Court Mandated Parenting, Drug, Alcohol & Tobacco Education and Anger Management Programs for at-risk adults and teens.

Ms. Jacober has seen first hand the heartbreak of those struggling with substance abuse challenges. Ms. Jacober believes that addiction issues are symptoms of underlying mental health conditions, and that abusers are doing the best they can to cope with their symptoms. Marcia supports clients to discover what changes they want to make in their lives and cultivates their motivation to get well. She believes that all those struggling with addiction issues deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, and that one can only begin to heal in a compassionate and nurturing environment.
